nail thumbs

Here's the first round of thumbnails. From here I'm gonna have to pick and choose which I want to take further. My main focus is to use the environment design as a format for introducing the native people, which don't have a dedicated design process. I'm a little unsure of which to choose or what to change, so feel free to chip in your .02. Inspiration includes New Zealand, Tasmania, and some cool rock stuff from Arizona.

  1. Woah dude, I had no idea you were going in this direction, I'm really glad you did though. I think it's awesome. There's a lot of big shapes to play with. I think Scott is right about 2, it isn't just a random landscape you know? It's telling a story and being mysterious kindof, and I think it does something more original than the others from the reference, you know?

  4. Amen! We're almost there man! Just two more weeks, can you believe it? And yeah I was going to tell you about that. It was cool, I went to artcenter of course, calarts and two other really small places. the critique the guy from artcenter gave me was really good, he liked it but he couldn't tell what alot of stuff was, he said just titling each page and laying things out for the purpose of storytelling would work wonders. It was that and getting color in for every project, which was my plan in the first place, so I've got my work cut out for me. Are you going to any of the portfolio days?

  6. Ahh dude that's too bad, it was a really awesome experience, but honestly, we have a more personal portfolio day to day thing going on with Scott, Thomas, and the gang, I don't really think you're missing out on much besides the the other schools, which from their perspective, we are ahead of the game, the calarts guy was alot fun to talk to.
