Blood Brother

So for now I'm calling the project blood brothers. In this world world, if your spirit is strong enough, you are split into two people at birth, not twins or anything, totally separate in relation and you don't truly even know that you have this wonder twin sort of person out there. The only way to tell whether or not the bond exists is to transfuse blood. In the world if you do that with someone who isn't your blood brother, you die, but who the hell goes around trying to mix blood anyways, right? So no worries, the story fades into legend quite rapidly. The thing is if you mix just the tiniest smidgen of blood with that someone you don't have the bond with, the pain is absolutely excruciating, so prisons use this as an unorthodox method of torture. So what happens when they torture the right two prisoners? That's where the story goes from there, to be told in graffic novel style.

  1. Damn, that kicks ass. Initially, when I saw the sketches, I immediately thought straight jacket and I was particularly drawn to the second and fourth drawings on the second page. Your story makes for an awesome Sci Fi, as I think it is totally unique and has so much room for creativity. I really like the idea of having two characters and I think you could have a lot of fun with creating total juxtaposition between the two, like a foil. Perhaps one soul character is raised as a spoiled, destructive, and evil person, while the other soul character struggles through life and ends up in extreme security prison, even though he is a genuinely good human. This story gets me pumped, it's so good! I'd love to continue discussing it.

  2. Thanks! Yeah I think the final for the imprisonment get up is going to be a combo of those two designs. And woah! I hadn't have even thought of it like that, to have the second character not in the prison, that could work, but the idea behind both characters is that they are imprisoned by the game of life because they refuse to play, not by choice but because they are different and sort of singled out in a way (the whole blood brother thing). One is imprisoned because of his differences by an actual prison, while the other is the more subtly imprisoned, more by his life and circumstances or something. But yeah at first I was gonna have them both in the prison but how boring is that? Maybe he could be a prison guard, guards are straight up sadistic in the story so I would think the character would be on the good side of all this evil, while on the other side we have the prisoner who is on the evil side of the good, wrongly imprisoned. It's like a lot of yin yang stuff, visually too. Black dude being yin, white dude representing yang.
