The First Month

What's up guys! I hope this post finds you Kevins doing stupendously! I just wanted to post some of my design process work from the term so far. for the project we had to choose a brand and design a robot for them. I wasn't sure what to post so I thought I'd just give you the whole process. My story is about the first prototype of the dyson robot who was just kind of thrown out after the newer more advanced versions were made. That's where his journey begins.

When the people who made us who we are don't want us anymore, we feel like there is something wrong with us. we feel like we have a hole inside us where some missing piece belongs. Its a story about what happens when you let others create the image you have of yourself and how the only way to find happiness is to create that image yourself.

Some stuff

Hey guys, hope you had an exquisite/sublime summer. I thought I'd share a few little things. I've been messing around with my gouaches recently and have begun to dabble in watercolor, which has proven far more difficult than I imagined. To complement the painting, I picked up James Gurney's Color and Light which I've found to be tremendously useful.
Anyways, can't wait to see more of your guys' work!!

Well huh.

Below is a voicemail I received at 10am this morning. I gotta say, I'm both taken aback and pressed to figure out what I'm going to do. Just thought I would let you guys know.

ODDS and ENDS

Here, I post once more, just random stuff that has surfaced... no particular project, just doodles and thangs. The oatmeal colored pages are from a tiny sketchbook in which I just reference and study animals. Hope this summer has been treating you guys well!

MAPS

I made a map! and I'm sorry I don't have more stuff, I'm trying to put together some sketches too but technically I shouldn't be drawing as it leaves my wrist inflamed and I am still in the recovery phase. hopefully I can get some ideas drawn out by the end of summer though.

So this is the realm I created for my D&D group: Dulmar, a land surrounded by an evil darkness called the Mistwall. For the past five thousand years the Mistwall has remained stationary, held at bay by the power of the Being of Wisdom who sits of the Throne of Edrodor. For reasons unknown, the Being of Wisdom has failed and the Mistwall now advances on Dulmar from all sides.

That is the world I'm putting the characters up against, right now they are headed south from Eulfell to the Aardun. I find that the story building part of being a dungeon master is super fun. I still need to name certain things, so if you've got any crazy fantasy name ideas I'd be down to hear them! hope your summers are going awesome!

This semester was the longest time I've gone without drawing. I sat down and tried this afternoon, and it was very liberating.

There's a old man who lives at the edge of hell, an icy wasteland. Every now and then, a hellhound will try to break loose into the world and since the beginning of time it has been his job to kill them. The years are long here and the hounds are many; the man grows weary of his Sisyphean task. He ventures into the depths of hell and tries to find a successor. When all the demon lords turn him down, he is left to search a successor among the condemned. How do you convince men who have lost everything to protect a world they can never return to?

trevor, kevin, I hope you guys are doing well!

My eyeballs hurt

At last, the portfolio is completed, but not without picking up some peculiar health defects. It feels crazy to click that submit button, but feels wonderful to not have a deadline.

At this point, I don't think I'd be too disappointed if I didn't get in. I definitely know what I'd have to do to make it better. That being said, I have a lot of decision making to do on whether I'm gonna go through with this whole thing. But In the meantime, it feels great to be finished!

Huge thanks to both of you. I literally would not have submitted if it weren't for your guys' guidance and perpetual posting of killer work.
